Built
around 1700 The Original Roslin Hotel, now family run, is situated seven
miles from Edinburgh in the delightful village of Roslin (formerly Rosslyn). The present owners and licensees, the Harris family, took over in 1973 and whilst retaining the character of the hotel they have been continually improving the amenities ever since. Amongst its facilities the hotel boasts four bars, six comfortable bedrooms, all with private en-suite facilities, a large function hall, intimate restaurant, private garden and conservatory. Close to the Hotel is the historic Roslin Chapel housing the famous Apprentice Pillar, built in the 15th century and overlooking Roslin Castle which dates back to 1304. Nearby is Roslin Glen providing ideal countryside for scenic walks and a peaceful getaway, with many historical places of interest. For the more energetic guests there are many nearby golf courses and a local driving range. There is also a leisure centre with a swimming pool in the nearby town of Loanhead. |
